Event of the Week: Texas Tri

The Texas Tri is one of those races that has been around for years. Once held at the beginning of the triathlon season, this event (directed by our friend Nick Seidel) now takes place at the tail end of the season. This year it has been selected as the 2008 Texas State Championship and is open to all - no qualifying time required. So if you're not tied up in the Distance Challenge, then come out to Canyon Lake this Saturday. Although it's a "championship" it's still low-key and fun. And like last year, you'll catch some of the J&A crew volunteering on the bike course, helping with timing, and breaking down transition.

Here's the info:

Another option for this weekend is the Harbor Half Marathon down in Corpus. This isn't a new race, but it is newly directed by our friend Ed Cheatham. He's been around the tri scene for years, including officiating many local triathlons. It's sure to be a great race, so check it out and tell all your South Texas friends about it.
