Texas 4000 Tribute Fashion Show

Come out and support the Texas 4000 organization in their quest to fight cancer by attending the 2011 Texas 4000 Tribute Fashion Show.

BoConcept will host a Style Show on Thursday, March 31, 2011 to raise awareness for Texas 4000. The show will highlight local Austin retail stores and eateries including: Jack & Adam's, delish, How Do You Roll, gallery d, Plain Ivey Jane, MissBehave, Langford Market, Duo and more.

The 2011 LIVESTRONG Texas 4000 team members will be in attendance. Texas 4000 is dedicated to fighting cancer by sharing hope, knowledge and charity. The cornerstone event in the organization’s fight against cancer is a more than 4,000-mile bike ride from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska.

Shop Ride Sundays: Just a quicky

Just an early reminder, this weeks shop ride is at Steiner Ranch and will be the Round Rock Express special edition, same routes for the rides, and including the famous(*) Jacks No-Drop ride, this week is a good tune up for the April 10th Round Rock Express ride and we'll be giving out additional details on Sunday. Advanced warning, there is NO SHOP RIDE PLANNED FOR APRIL 10th

Also, after the April 3rd ride I'll be doing an informal transition clinic for those that want some tips on how to get in and out of T1/T2 fast for the Rookie Triathlon. Short course racing is hard and fast, don't waste time in transition! The clinic will run in Butler Park just as soon as I can get set-up after the No Drop ride, probably between 11-12pm and participation is free. Doesn't matter which group you ride with, come over afterwards, bring your run shoes as I will make you practice.

Muddy Buddy Austin!

Muddy Buddy is all about having fun with a friend, family member, partner or co-worker! Teams of two traverse a 6-7 mile off-road course and 5 obstacles.

At the start of the race, one team member will run and one will ride the bike. At the 1st obstacle, the rider will drop the bike, complete the obstacle, and begin running. The runner will arrive, complete the obstacle, find their bike and begin riding. Teams will continue leapfrogging each other through the entire course.

At the end of the race, racers crawl through the infamous Mud Pit crossing the finish line together as official “Muddy Buddies”!

This is an awesome action-packed spin class brought to you by the folks at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training. Bring your own trainer and a positive attitude and get ready to rock to some awesome tunes and get your sweat on all while building yourself into a strong cyclist.

The spin class is open to all levels of fitness. Whether you are an experienced athlete and want a good workout or if you’re just thinking about getting into triathlon and cycling, this class is for you! The class is free.

Austin Autism Ride

Help support the Autism Society of Greater Austin by coming out to the Austin Autism Ride Sunday, April 3rd at beautiful Berry Springs County Park in Georgetown. This is a fantastic course with routes of 9, 24, 42 and 64 miles and a rider limit of 350 participants. The Autism Society is also offering a family hike/walk through the park with a paved path for little cyclists.

With your registration you get a fully supported ride, plus a t-shirt and lunch from Stubb's Bar-B-Q, Chipotle, Schlotzsky's, and KFC as well as beer from Saint Arnold's Brewery (if you are of age) and one raffle ticket. Raffle prizes will include $500 worth of merchandise from REI and a free fit and tune-up from us (valued at $100).

The Autism Society of Greater Austin supports families affected by Autism with a phone line, email group, support meetings and fun family activities like sensory-friendly movie screenings.
